Wyoming Chop

Well, this is my first attempt at a build, and a few members I spoke with asked me to post pics of my pittiful attempt...

She's a 1980 CB750F, 28K miles, runs like a champ. I rode it for a few months before deciding to chop it up. At first, I thought I was going to hardtail it, but I have decided against that as i wanted to go for something a little different. I decided instead to extend the swingarm, not sure on exactly how I will mod the rear suspension. Tires are pretty much staying the same. Will try to hide most of the electronics as well....

So, here's some pics of what I have accomplished thusfar in the past month. Work is keepin me really busy, hope I have more time in the new year so I get her done by the springtime.....

And yes, I am tearing her apart in my living room, LOL!!

First, here's when I first brought her inside, stripped of seat, tailights, instrument cluster, bars, etc...

Then I dropped the rear suspension off, cleaned up the fusebox, and started to try and make a decision just what direction I am going in...

Well, at this point I decided to chop the rear section of the frame off, change the bars slightly, extend the swingarm, and some other ideas came into my head,,,, boy when I chopped off the frame I realized I was at the point of no return...

Now I am at the point where I really have to extend the swingarm to begin my rear suspension process. This is truly a beginner build, no fancy tools, no jigs or stands, just a maintenance man trying to build a bike uniquely his own.... here's where I am at , at this point. After the holidays I hope to get into her pretty hard...

Looking at a 5 inch swingarm extension, and moving the shocks inboard of the frame....or maybe monoshocking it, but not quite sure yet...the seat will have a rear hoop welded in place, making it moreover a CMC style floating seat...

Ok, it's been awhile since I have posted... sorry but life has kept me busy. Got new brake pads, and got the swingarm extended finally 4 inches over stock. Hoping to get the money for new tires and am going to start mocking up the roller now....
Painted the frame, swingarm, rotors, sprocket, etc with a krylon fusion color called "hammered grey" and I liked the results,,, ,here's a teaser, and hopefully will have more to post soon!!

I dig the color. Looks good.
